EPISODE 113: QUEEN OF THE DAMNED

Aaliyah in the movie QUEEN OF THE DAMNED.

QUEEN OF THE DAMNED (Aaliyah) is the film adaptation of the third book in Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles series. As she does, Rice sold the rights to Warner Bros., initially approved the project and later blasted the movie. The first 45 minutes were actually INCREDIBLE. It managed to avoid the usual brooding lonely vampire bullshit that’s especially annoying during quarantine. Instead the focus is on Lestat fulfilling his rock star dreams. Things got a little messy after that but it wasn’t unwatchable. We play some Aalyiah and a screwed and chopped version of a Korn song.

It's Spooky Season, so we had to do our internet-mandated "horror" episode. So we dug up QUEEN OF THE DAMNED, a horror "musical"(?) featuring songs by Jonathan Davis of Korn and starring none other than Aaliyah. We REALLY try and talk about Aaliyah, but we also talk a lot about Korn's surprising crossovers into the rap world.
